“How I came up with the name, Heart of Destiny.”
Well in short Titanic started it all. I wanted a name that sounded different not the same old thing like everyone else. So I chose Heart from the Heart of the Ocean necklace from Titanic. And Destiny well that came from Jack and Rose’s Destiny to be together. So with that, it became the Heart of Destiny.
“HOD’s route and how it came about?”
I went through many hosts: Yahoo (Lucas Central), Geocites, Angelfire, Fortune City, Aplus.net, Bravenet. Finally landing at Total Choice Hosting, but we out grew their service and came to HostGator.com. I remember in about either early november or early december of 1999, I wanted to make a site about Titanic it was pretty much basic and I started out with free graphics from other sites. Then I started making graphics in January they were awful. A few years passed and I started getting more involved in Leonardo DiCaprio so I decided to convert my site to a Leonardo DiCaprio site and it’s remained for the past 9 years.

My Fiancee got this domain although now he is my husband, for Sailor Moon his favorite cartoon. Then he noticed I was using bravenet for The Kate and Leo Cafe so he asked if I wanted to transfer it to this domain. I agreed and it was added to HOD.NET. Then we found our love for Smallville was increasing so we decided to add this as well.

Originally since .org is for organizations we planned to make this a global warming aware site. Although no one was interested in it, so my love for Harry Potter emerged and it was converted to a Harry Potter site.

We had made this a learning domain for tutorials and graphics, but no information was being submitted so we closed it down after thinking long and hard a new tv show came out called Heroes, and we loved it. So we decided to based this domain on that television show.

As with owning any web site it all takes money. We spend money on DVD’s, Image Accounts, Magazines near and far and domain hosting, So in order to give our viewers more for their money instead of donations we made a store so you could get products and help with our sites as a thank you.
